I previously wrote about how I wanted to do a Chuck Wagon Dinner Ride at Bonnybrook Farm! We were finally able to do it and let me tell you that this was an awesome experience! This farm is packed full of fun outdoor activities for all ages to enjoy together. I think this would be great for a family reunion, church picnic, company party. There is so much to do and the farm is so big you never feel crowded! Not to mention the food is home cooked and very yummy!!
We played most of the “Fun on the Farm” Activities:
Clodhopper Golf is a horseshoe nailed to a stick and you play with large bouncy balls
Giant Slingshots
Saw the Friendly Farm Animals
Fished
They also have: Corn Hole • Horseshoe Hill with 80? Underground Slide
There are tons of beautiful flowers and antiques all around the farm. Lots of great photo opportunities!
When the Dinner Bell Rings
You get to enjoy a homemade meal of Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork and Chicken, Nathan’s Hot Dogs, Fresh Locally Grown Salads and Sides. You can eat in the Post and Beam Gathering Barn or on the Back Porch overlooking the Farm Pond. This barn is super clean. It is decorated perfectly.
After Dinner, Board the Wagon for a Ride down an Abandoned Country Road
This was by far my FAVORITE part!!! You take the Old Chuck Wagon to Todd Fork Creek for Dessert and S’mores around the Campfire. I was in such awe I didn’t get many good pics… but just imagine riding along relaxing, enjoying the sites, sounds, and smells of fresh air. Then you come up on a covered wagon with three roaring fires and homemade apple pie a la mode, pumpkin spice cake, and the BEST HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, and smores you can make at the fire. There is also coffee and beverages.
This was really really neat memorable experience. Have your kids bring glow bracelets, or little flashlights, it gets dark while you are there and that was something other people had thought to bring. I will next time! After dessert and your time at the creek you load back up on the wagons and star gaze the whole way back to the barn. Such a great time and fun experience. We were blessed with beautiful weather and great friends to enjoy this evening with. I would love to do this every summer!
Bonnybrook is by far my Favorite Farm near Cincinnati. We met Bonnie while we were there. She is super sweet. It is just her and her husband who run the farm. They have 360 acres. I think it is so kind of them to keep this farm up and share it with the public. I was truly impressed with every detail, every game, and the fact that you could eat off of the barn floors (even the barn with the animals)! It takes a true pride in ownership, a lot of blood, sweat, and tears keep a farm as meticulous as this one! We can’t wait to come back for the Fall Farm days!
