The Club Mom is proud to be partnering with The Cure Starts Now & Graeters again this year for the Cones for the Cure Campaign. Started in 2007, as tribute to Elena Desserich. Elena was a beautiful, artistic, 6 year old resident of my hometown Wyoming, Ohio, who lost her battle to pediatric brain cancer.
Elena’s Blueberry Pie Ice Cream was named after Elena as part of a wish donated by Graeter’s to The Cure Starts Now’s annual Once in a Lifetime Gala & Auction. The Groteke family won the wish and invented the flavor in 2008. Elena’s heart painting is the inspiration for the pint design. A portion of the proceeds from every scoop benefits The Cure Starts Now.
The Cure Starts Now and Graeter’s team up once again this September for their annual Cones for the Cure campaign. The campaign will take place September 8-18 at participating Cincinnati, Dayton, Cleveland, Chicago, Columbus, Indianapolis, Lexington, Louisville and Pittsburgh Graeter’s locations to help spread the word about The Cure Starts Now and its mission to find the homerun cure for cancer by focusing on pediatric brain cancer.
As part of their continued support for The Cure Starts Now, Graeter’s will be giving away free scoops of Elena’s Blueberry Pie ice cream (available at specific locations only) to customers two times during the campaign period.
The element of surprise is what makes this such a great campaign as the two free ice cream days will randomly be announced with the help of media outlets, bloggers and social media.Be sure to “like” Cones for the Cure on Facebook and follow on Twitter so you can be the first to get the “inside scoop” about FREE ice cream days, giveaways and more!
