We have been scheduling College Visits around Volleyball tournaments where we can. Once Ava heard she had a tournament in Knoxville, TN she told me that she wanted to Visit University of Tennessee!
I have to give a HUGE shout out to @UT_Admissions Ambassadors, they do an AMAZING job welcoming #FutureVols to Rocky Top! This was a top notch campus tour! We are sold! I really appreciate all they do to show what it means to be a Volunteer!
We were told to make sure to try the Local Cruze Dairy Farm, on Gay Street, in Downtown Knoxville. We went twice to the insanely popular red-and-white-checked soft served dairy brand.
While in Tennessee, you have eat some southern cookin’. It’s good for the soul. Tupelo Honey Cafe was highly recommended to us, a team mom made brunch reservations for all of us! It did not disappoint!
Market Square is a pretty cool town center worth checking out. On weekends, in Knoxville, to the Market Square Farmers’ Market, which takes place every Wednesday and Saturday. There are vendors and food trucks galore, and the place is hopping with people skipping out of work to peruse the stalls or grab a bite to eat.
We stayed at the Hilton in Downtown Knoxville. I parked the car there with the valet Friday night, and didn’t get it out until it was time to leave. Our tournament was at the Knoxville Convention center. It is a completely covered walk the across the street, which was so nice! Ava and I walked to the Aveda School in the morning for a facial and hair cut before her tournament. There is a movie theatre, tons of bars, restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed our weekend there.
And Oh… we came home TOURNAMENT CHAMPS!!!
Until next time Knoxville! WE WILL BE BACK! LET’S GO VOLS!!!!
