The Cure Starts Now was started in 2007, in Cincinnati, by Wyoming (my home town) School’s teachers and parents in honor and celebration of Elena Desserich, a six year old Wyoming student who lost her battle with a rare form of brain cancer known as DIPG.
Today, The Cure Starts Now Foundation is one of the only cancer foundations dedicated to a “homerun” cure for all cancers, starting first with one of the most deadly and difficult cancers: pediatric brain cancer. In just 5 short years, The Cure Starts Now has raised over $1 million in research.
The cure for cancer is just as important as it is elusive. We can cure cancer one-by-one or we can focus on THE cure which we believe will come from a cure for brainstem glioma. The fight begins today and the cure starts now.
