Cincinnati ReelAbilities Film Festival Feb 27th – March 7th

10968569_10153108489642264_7987740339205937735_nThe Club Mom is so excited to help promote this Festival – which is organized by Living Arrangements for the Developmentally Disabled (LADD) and presented by Macy’s – it is our region’s largest, and one of the country’s largest film festivals that is all about exploring our differences and our shared humanity.

Thousands are expected to participate in this eight day event running from February 27 to March 7, 2015.   It all kicks off with a community WELCOME ‘Meet The Stars’ event at 9:30 am next Friday (Feb 27) on the second floor of the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. It will be like a news conference that is open the public to meet and ask questions of some of our most recognized Premiere Weekend VIPs including Marlee Matlin, Danny Woodburn, Kurt Yaeger, Daryl Chill Mitchell, Richard Bernstein; and local personalities including Teddy Kremer, Ken Anderson, Dave Parker, and Todd Portune.   (For more information: www.Cincyra.org)

It’s All About Friends
Max, a cinematographer, is invited to help on a film project by an old friend, but it’s not until he arrives that he realizes the documentary is about people with disabilities. As the film gets made, Max goes through a personal journey challenging his perceptions of disability.

Wampler’s Ascent
Steve Wampler, a teacher and father with cerebral palsy, must do 20,000 pull-ups to climb the famous El Capitan Mountain in Yosemite. His goal is to show kids with disabilities that they can do anything they set their minds to.
