***Leave out the red pepper flakes if you don’t like spicy, this can be a little hot. Make sure you remove the seeds and ribs from the jalapenos. ***
Ingredients:
- 1 medium white onion, diced
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 2 lb 93% lean ground chicken or turkey
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 (14 oz) can petite diced tomatoes
- 1 cup reduced sodium chicken broth
- chopped scallions, for garnish
- 8 oz diced avocado (from 2 small haas)
Directions:
Place all the ingredients except the scallion and avocado in the slow cooker and cook on low 8 hours. I browned my meat first.
