Kay the owner of Jellystone is so extremely nice and accommodating! My family stayed in one of the Cumberland Cabins with a Golf Cart. The Cabin was sparkling clean and just enough space for the four of us. These cabins have a full bathroom, a full kitchen, flat screen TV, Queen Sized pillow top mattress and pillows. It had a loft for the kids (you cannot stand fully up) with two double mattresses.
When we got there Thursday, we unpacked, and ran right over to Karst Beach! The kids were so excited to check out the new beach and Wibit! We ordered Pizza from new Ranger Station: Hunt Brothers Pizza (sooo good!) for dinner. We had Nathan’s hotdogs from there for Lunch on Saturday and you HAVE to try the Ranch Fries! They were to die for!
The Wibit – guests of Jellystone Park™ will not see an additional fee for the use of Karst Beach. Children must be at least 43″ tall and at least 6 years old to go on the Wibit. Life jackets are furnished and are required while on the Wibit and Corcls.
Outdoor seating
Ranger Station Snack Bar with Hunts Pizza, Nathan’s Hot Dogs, Ice Cream, etc!
Indoor Seating
Anything and everything you can think of (or you forgot) you can find in the Ranger Station. They have the cutest souvenirs!
After dinner we went up to the Amphitheater for and outdoor movie night and Marshmallow roasting! The staff is very accommodating and very nice!
Friday, we got up and watched cartoons and ate breakfast. Cincinnati is an hour behind so we were able to sleep in a little bit and it still felt early there!!
Right after raising the flag, we did a fun FREE craft, it was national S’More Day so we made an appropriate craft of a S’More and then played on the play set.
We of course went back to Karst Beach to play some more! When we went back for lunch it started to rain, so we decided to take a ride. We ended up at the Mammoth Cave National Park – there is a free museum there which was really informative and cool. All the tours were booked until the following week, which was fine with us. We went on a few of the tours the last time we were there! You can read about those here!
We then headed over to Austin’s favorite place the last time we went, Lost River Cave, you can read more about that here! We did some hiking, played on the Nature Playscape, and Mined for Gems.
On the way back we stopped at The Porch for Dinner. You can take your Golf Cart there if you have one and are staying in the Jellystone Campground. They had really great food and a great Band.
Of course we had a campfire with s’mores to end the night!
Saturday & Sunday, we hit up the all you can eat waffle breakfast at the main cabin. I have to say I was very impressed with the waffles . They had the waffles ready for you to eat. Not like a hotel where you all stand by the waffle iron waiting in line! They were the BIG thick waffles!
Saturday, we stayed at the Campground all day. There was so much the kids still wanted to do there! They were so sad to leave Sunday. You really could spend a week here and still have plenty to do.
In the REC Hall you can paint ceramics and T-shirts every day for a small fee.
Saturday, they were able to Tie Die T-Shirts.
There is real sand at KARST BEACH. Don’t forget your Sand Toys and Beach Chairs!
Little bumper type paddle boats!
A very well stocked fishing pond!
It was a great weekend! I know I will never forget it and I am sure the kids will remember it fondly as I remember all my camping trips as a child!
